Hail Net Type Wiesel Light Grey 5.0 m – Durable PEHD Net with High UV Resistance
The Wiesel hail net in light grey, 5.0 meters wide, is made from high-density polyethylene (PEHD) and equipped with long-lasting UV stabilizers. With a mesh size of 2.8 × 8.7 mm, this net provides reliable protection against hail and various weather conditions. It is available in any required width or length and comes in light grey, crystal, and black.
KLY & UV Resistance
In the Netherlands, the average annual UV exposure is around 80 KLY. UV stabilizers slow down the natural aging process of PEHD plastic and strongly influence the final KLY value of the net. Based on practical experience, our hail nets achieve a lifespan of 10 to 15 years.
While a higher KLY value can extend durability, excessive UV stabilizers may reduce the net’s flexibility. This can make the material stiffer and increase the risk of wire-by-wire breakage under heavy wind loads.
Strength
Each individual thread has a tensile strength of 3.5 kg, resulting in a total strength of 112 kg per meter of width. With a thread thickness of 0.32 mm, the woven net is theoretically strong enough to function as a hammock.
Weight
The net weighs 46–50 g/m², offering an excellent balance between strength and easy handling.
