The Wiesel Crystal 4.0 m hail net is made of high-quality high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and is fully UV-stabilized. With a mesh size of 2.8 × 8.7 mm, this net provides reliable protection against hail and other weather conditions. The hail net is available in any desired length and width and comes in crystal, black, and grey.
KLY value
The crystal-coloured Wiesel hail net has a KLY value of 950. In the Netherlands, the annual exposure is on average 80 KLY. Thanks to the UV stabilizers, the ageing process of the HDPE plastic is significantly slowed, resulting in a practical lifespan of 10–15 years.
Although a higher KLY value increases its lifespan, an excessively high amount of stabilizers can make the material stiffer, which may cause thread-by-thread breakage in strong winds.

Strength
Each individual thread has a tensile strength of 3.5 kg, which amounts to approximately 112 kg per running metre. The thread thickness is 0.32 mm. Theoretically, the net is strong enough to even make a hammock.
Weight
The weight of the hail net is 46–50 grams per square metre.
