Hail net Wiesel Crystal 5.4 m – PEHD hail net with 2.8 × 8.7 mm mesh | High KLY value
The Hail Net Type Wiesel Crystal 5.4 m is made from high-quality high-density polyethylene (PEHD) and is fully UV-stabilised. With a mesh size of 2.8 × 8.7 mm, this net provides reliable protection against hail and other weather conditions. The hail net is available in any desired length and width and comes in the colours crystal, black and grey.
KLY value
The crystal-coloured Wiesel hail net has a KLY value of 950. In the Netherlands, the annual UV exposure averages around 80 KLY. Thanks to the UV stabilisers, the ageing process of the PEHD plastic is significantly slowed down, resulting in a practical lifespan of 10–15 years.
Although a higher KLY value increases lifespan, an excessively high amount of stabilisers can make the material stiffer, which may cause wire-by-wire breakage during strong winds.

Strength
Each individual thread has a tensile strength of 3.5 kg, which equals approximately 112 kg per linear metre. The thread thickness is 0.32 mm. Theoretically, the net is strong enough that you could even make a hammock out of it.
Weight
The weight of the hail net is 46–50 grams per square metre.
