Hail Net Border Crystal 0.4 m
The Border Crystal hail net is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with excellent UV resistance. The mesh size is 2.8 mm x 8.7 mm, and the net can be supplied in any desired width and length. Besides crystal, it is also available in black and grey.
KLY Value
The crystal hail net has a KLY value of 950, compared to the Dutch annual average of approximately 80 KLY. UV stabilizers slow down the aging process of the HDPE material. The amount of stabilizers determines the KLY value, directly influencing the net’s lifespan. Field experience shows a service life of 10–15 years.
In addition to KLY, weather conditions such as wind have a significant impact on durability. Excessive UV stabilizers may reduce flexibility, causing individual threads to break under strong winds.
Tensile Strength
Each single thread has a tensile strength of up to 3.5 kg, corresponding to 112 kg per meter of width. With a thread thickness of 0.32 mm, the woven net is theoretically strong enough to support a hammock.
Weight
The net weighs 46–50 grams per square meter, combining strength with lightweight handling.
